Posted on

In the official version of Chrome 90 last month, Google brought the browser to automatically use the HTTPS protocol to load web page URLs. This feature will use https prefix connection for all web pages, which can improve access security.

Recently, Microsoft announced that the version of Edge browser 92 that will be released in July will also implement this feature. When users visit websites that use the HTTP protocol, they will automatically be redirected to a secure HTTPS connection.

Microsoft said that by default, only web pages that may support the HTTPS protocol will be automatically redirected. Users can also enable mandatory options to make all web pages prefer HTTPS connections.

Before the release of Edge browser 92, users can indirectly enable HTTPS connections for all websites by using the Edge browser extension.
