New WhatsApp beta brings chat migration features for Android

Posted on

Earlier, it is reported that WhatsApp may soon introduce new options in the disappearing messages section. As per the WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned company is working on a new option to configure disappearing messages.

And the developer team is not resting and continues to release new beta versions of the app dedicated to devices based on Android and iOS that attract users to them.

Over the past few weeks, the WhatsApp team has been working on a special tool that allows the user to transfer the history of conversations between Android and iOS devices.

Today, WhatsApp has finally released a new beta update via the Google Play Beta program that brings the chat migration feature with version 2.21.9.7.

In addition, WABetaInfo also confirmed that the development of this feature on Android has also begun because until now, in fact, it was only known on iOS.

Following the screenshot, WhatsApp for Android is working on the process of importing your chat history. The method of transferring chat history is not known at this time, but it is possible that they will use Google Drive to temporarily store chat history to import to WhatsApp for Android.

Probably, when the developers complete the feature of exporting chat from iOS to import from Android, they will develop the export of chat history for Android to import it to iOS.

Currently, this facility is under development. There is no information about when this tool should be ready and will be available in future updates for iOS and Android.
