Google Play Store is finally set to bring the app crash prompt feature to its users. Though the company announced this tweak several months back, it made it official on its Android developer blog page, confirming its launch in the coming days.
App Crash Prompt feature is a significant addition to Google Play Store. Consequently, it will work wonders for those who are often stuck with buggy and glitchy applications. As the name reflects, the feature will alert you to update a crashing application with the latest version available in the App Store.
Recently, the Android maker published a new blog on one of its official web pages. Describing the essential add-on, the tech giant says that it is a useful feature that will appear as a remedy for the app crashing problems.
On the other hand, the manufacturer said that the system will automatically recognize the crashing app in the device and will suggest you an update to improve the efficiency for the same.

It is worth mentioning that this feature will show up on phones and tablets running Android 7.0 and above operating systems. Since the alert will emerge from the Play Store, the update prompt will work even if your app crashes on startup.
Notably, the apps installed from a third-party source or some alternative app stores will not receive these alerts. Further, the company said that it will use a few thresholds to determine the delivery of prompts.

These include:
- The user activity level of an app version according to Vitals to ensure we have statistical relevance.
- Foreground crash rate of an app version and its newer version.
- The number of times a prompt shown for each version of your app on a device if the user doesn’t choose to update.
There isn’t any specific timeline for this feature rollout. However, the company will soon bring the details on board.
