Last year, Samsung announced that it is collaborating with Google to introduce Nest devices into SmartThings, and now, the company is integrating with Google between different platforms. Following this episode, at the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung informed that Android Auto support will soon be available for SmartThings.
Samsung said – “users will be able to turn on the porch lights before going home, and even raise the temperature of the thermostat, all of which can be done in the car.”
Following the announcement, the Android version of the SmartThings application has started getting support for Android Auto that means the Galaxy S21 series models will be able to start using this feature.
As per the info, the interface on Android Auto shows the options such as “go home” and “go out”. These options will allow users to quickly click to perform operations, such as turning on/off the lights, turning on/off the garage door, or adjusting other devices.

In addition to these buttons, there is also a “Location” button on the interface. However, it is still unclear whether this SmartThings application will be integrated with Google Assistant on Android Auto.
