Everyone likes listening to music while traveling. Specifically, Spotify added additional support for “Car View” to its mobile apps on Android and iOS. It allows users to listen to their favorite tracks more easily while driving.
Meanwhile, going by the new information, Spotify has tragically destroyed the feature off. The company officially confirmed the option to eliminate the feature on its community forums, as spotted by Android Police.

The following is the official statement:
We can confirm that we’re retiring the car view feature. This however doesn’t mean we don’t want to improve on how our users listen to Spotify while driving. On the contrary, we’re actively exploring a variety of new ways to deliver the best in-car listening experience. Think of retiring car-view as something that needs to happen in an effort to make way for new innovations coming down the track.
Android Police further says that many users are upset with this change. In the comment section of the official post, people say that the removal of Car View made it harder for them to use Spotify safely while driving.
Do note that Spotify is currently testing its “Car Thing” device, a way to control playback in the car. The $80 device is dedicated entirely to Spotify and has both physical and voice controls.
