As per the previous reports, the Spotify podcast service will be further expanded to Canada, Germany, Austria, and France starting from the next week.

In the podcast subscription tracks, Spotify is later than Apple. In early May, Apple offered paid podcast options in 170 countries and territories around the world. However, Apple Podcasts account for 30% of creators’ revenue, which will drop to 15% in the second year, compared to 5% for Spotify.

Back in April, Spotify revealed that it would launch its own podcast subscription service to compete with Apple and launched first in the United States in August. Now,  the service will be expanded to 33 countries and regions around the world.

Spotify’s paid podcast service allows creators to charge additional fees for providing exclusive content and prioritizing listening. Creators who join before 2023 can keep all proceeds except the basic transaction fee, but Spotify will charge a 5% commission afterward.

Additionally, Spotify has added a new item that allows creators to download a list of user contact information. In terms of content, it is announced that it has reached a multi-year collaboration with Bad Robot Audio of JJ Abrams, and will prioritize the team’s core works in the future.
