Spotify has recently added a new home screen widget to the Android app which effectively combines playback controls and the latest recommendations tab. Users will be able to manage the current playing music and browse upcoming songs simultaneously.
Going with the official details, the new Spotify widget on Android will contain both playback controls as well as the recommendations tab based on your listening habits. Thus, you don’t have to navigate every time to the app to select a new song.
The information further reveals that there will be 5 suggested items personalized for users including playlists, albums, podcasts, and audiobooks. Tapping on any of these will open the respective page in the app, but you have to press the play button.
The new change is available to everyone using Spotify on an Android device. Eventually, you do not need to be a Premium member just for the widget.
