Twitter calls Meta ‘copycat’, threatens to sue over Threads app

Posted on

Twitter is quite unhappy with the incredible growth of the Threads app and unexpectedly threatens Meta to sue it for being a copycat. According to the latest information, the company warns its rival of poaching former employees and unlawfully misappropriating trade secrets.

Eventually, Twitter lawyer Alex Spiro sent an official letter to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and threatens for using Twitter’s IP and other confidential inputs for building up the Threads app. Ahead, Alex claims that Meta hired several ex-Twitter employees the last year and assigned them to work on the new application.

“Twitter intends to strictly enforce its intellectual property rights and demands that Meta take immediate steps to stop using any Twitter trade secrets or other highly confidential information.”
