Twitter announced today that the Twitter app for iOS supports larger image previews on the timeline, which means that tall images will no longer be cropped sharply in the Twitter app.
Since March, Twitter has been testing larger image previews on iOS and Android, but now, extended image previews are rolling out to everyone.

Now, Twitter no longer displays the cropped 16×9 version of Twitter images on the timeline but will display all images with an aspect ratio of 2:1 and 3:4. Larger images can be used on iOS and Android, but image previews on the web will still be cropped.
Last month, Twitter also began to support viewing and uploading 4K images on the Twitter for iOS application, thereby providing higher resolution images on the timeline.
