Twitter now lets you hide blue checkmarks, if you want to

Twitter is making new changes that sound effective for users holding blue checkmarks on their accounts, as they can now hide the blue tick sign at their convenience. Eventually, the activity is to keep consumers on the safer side and avoid the notice that they have paid for this classy treatment.

Let’s start from the beginning! Earlier, Twitter used a blue checkmark verification system for account recognition. But a lot of things changed after Elon Musk grabbed the owner’s seat. One of them is – allowing anyone to be ‘verified’ with a Blue subscription by just paying a little more.

While the change was impressive at the initial stage, it started resulting in fake accounts. Thereafter, everyone was able to recognize who was paying to be verified on Twitter. Finally, that’s not the case anymore. As of now, users can hide blue checkmarks from their Twitter accounts – quoted by the official Twitter support handle.

Besides, subscribing to Twitter Blue service will now add an optional blue tick to your profile with a ‘verified since’ date attached. Legacy-verified accounts include the date an account was originally verified on Twitter before the Blue subscription system.
