Snapchat and many other online social media apps enable users to have chit-chat with the AI chatbot, but do you know that a small conversation can lead to a huge risk to your privacy? As per some new revealings, the new AI chatbot feature is a danger sign, especially for children.
Recently, Britain’s data watchdog shared a report where the ICO – Information Commissioner Office cited that the provisional findings of the investigation suggest a worrying failure by Snap to adequately identify and assess the privacy risks to children and other users before launching My AI.
Since Snapchat “My AI” chatbot processes the personal data of roughly 21 million UK users including children aged 13-17, it could be a heavy risk in the privacy segment. Here is what a Snap spokesperson said on this matter:
“My AI went through a robust legal and privacy review process before being made publicly available. We will continue to work constructively with the ICO to ensure they’re comfortable with our risk assessment procedures.”
