WhatsApp bringing a new way to reduce interruption while chatting

WhatsApp to drop support for iOS 10 and iOS 11 devices after October 24

WhatsApp has recently published its clarification on the new terms of services. The Facebook-owned company has claimed that the privacy policy changes will not affect the privacy of users’ messages of data.

Still, millions of users are moving towards other messaging apps such as Signal, Telegram, and more. Even, Telegram has become the rising messaging app with more than 500 million active users as of the first week of January 2021.

Aside from the policy changes, new information suggests that WhatsApp is developing a new function named “Read Later”. As per the info, it will be the replacement or an improved variant of the Archived Chats menu.

In order to reduce interruption between chatting on WhatsApp, a chat can be added in the Archive Chats menu that mutes the upcoming notification from that contact/group.

This feature is currently available for select beta testers running version WhatsApp Beta 2.21.2.2. If the user doesn’t like the ‘Read Later’ feature and wants to still use Archived Chats can disable it from the WhatsApp Chat settings menu.
