WhatsApp group calls can include 32 participants at a time, with an initiation of 15 members at the beginning. However, the company is now enhancing this capability with some other calling improvements. As of now, you would be able to begin a group call with 31 members!
According to the information, WhatsApp is rolling out the Android beta 2.23.19.16 version that enables users to initiate group calls with up to 31 participants. In addition, the company is bringing minor tweaks to the calls tab and optimizes the overall app experience.
To begin with, call links are no longer available on the calls screen. This means that you can now call one or more contacts directly. Besides, the floating action button has gained a new “+” icon.
But the main highlight of this update is the new ability to start a group call with up to 31 people, instead of only 15. Eventually, the calling feature is now more efficient, and faster than before as you can immediately connect with a larger group of people in a few taps.
Perhaps, this capability enhances the utility of the group calling feature. Currently, the 31-people group calling is available to a limited number of testers. But the company will release a stable update soon.
