It’s another day and WhatsApp is up with some new changes that will allow users to share high-quality videos. Accordingly, the tech giant is testing a unique ‘Media Quality’ feature that will maintain the pixels of images and videos, showing better visual results.
WhatsApp is a popular chit-chat application that lets users share videos, audio, images, and more within an individual or a group conversation. However, this sharing often lacks high-quality media content which degrades the overall app experience.
But with the latest beta update, WhatsApp is adding a new option that will allow consumers to send high-quality images and videos to their friends and family. The feature is rolling in the Android beta 2.23.14.10 version. Currently, it is available to limited users but we anticipate to see this change in the stable release.
When in use, the feature won’t alter the dimensions of the video but compressed it slightly. Probably, you can’t share the video in its original quality, but the final results are better than before. It is quite similar to the high-quality photo feature. The default option appears as ‘Standard quality’.

Though you must note down the following points:
- When enabled, the feature may demand you to select a video that is large in size.
- Video shared using a high-quality will show a ‘high-quality’ label in the chat.
- This feature will not function when sharing videos through status updates.
