WhatsApp will never put a halt in forging new features and in the latest development, the company is working with short video messages and redesigned action buttons. These tweaks will add more efficiency and will bring a convenient phase to the app.
Let’s begin our tour with the short video messages feature. As per the details, WhatsApp is testing the respective element in the new beta update to amaze both Android and iOS users. From the name, the feature will let you share a 60-seconds video message with your friends and family.
Notably, the short and minimalistic communication feature first appeared in the WhatsApp beta 23.6.0.73 for iOS devices. After that, it made its way to Android with the 2.23.8.19 version. Since the feature is available to beta testers for the moment, it won’t be visible on your app. Though we may find it soon with a stable release.
Speaking of the functioning, when you send or receive a video message, you need to enlarge it by tapping on the clip once if you want to listen to the audio. The feature resides in the same microphone button within the chat bar. Tapping on it will turn it into a video camera button. Meanwhile, it is also end-to-end encrypted.
Redesigned Action Buttons
Apart from short video messages, another tweak that WhatsApp is currently working on is the redesigned action buttons for the home screen. Though this change is only limited to Android users for the moment.
According to the information, WhatsApp 2.23.13.4 beta brings the newly designed switches and floating action buttons. These toggles and tabs follow Material Design 3 guidelines and are mainly appearing for the best possible user experience.
One can check this change by opening the settings section in the app. If you hold the mentioned beta build, then you will find a new interface with redesigned toggles and floating action buttons. These buttons show up in a squarish shape with round corners.
