Latest Xbox Game Pass app turns Surface Duo dual-screen foldable into portable Xbox console
Microsoft has confirmed the rollout of the update to the Xbox GamePass app, specifically targeting the Surface Duo and effectively converting dual-screen foldable into portable Xbox consoles.
This update is a big deal for mobile gamers, as it turns the screen halfway into a gamepad, bringing out some serious Nintendo DS / 3DS vibes. Microsoft is constantly updating the Xbox Touch controls to support more than 50 games on the XCloud service. The trouble is, the price of the surface duo calls into question how practical it is for Xbox gamers out there.

If you already have a subscription to the Surface Duo and Xbox cloud gaming service, this would be a nice addition, at the very least, set to be foldable from others on the market.
Microsoft has not shared any information on whether other foldable devices can achieve split-screen control. It may be unique at the moment, but it makes sense to allow devices like Samsung and Xiaomi to access the gaming layout.
Touch controls are already available for a wide selection of Xbox game pass titles, but the Surface Duo’s enhanced on-screen touch controls have so far been limited to a partial selection of the entire library. However, this option includes some of the most popular, including Gears of War 5.
An update is currently underway for the Xbox GamePass app on the Google Play Store, you need to stump the cache for the Surface Duo – it’s still running Android 10 with frustration.
A very cool update goes live for #SurfaceDuo customers today! Working with @Xbox we've put touch controls on to the second screen. More than 50 games are available to play with touch for @xboxGamePass Ultimate Members. pic.twitter.com/ZPIqQZXxS4
