YouTube initiates public testing of ‘Playables’ feature

Posted on

YouTube has started the public testing of the ‘Playables’ feature that will let you add games to the video streaming application. The company has already introduced the capability earlier this year and it’s time to grab some more official inputs on this matter.

Accordingly, YouTube has revised its experimental features page and mentioned that the Playables function has entered the public testing phase. The company has rolled it out to a limited number of users at the beginning.

In case you are in the beta channel, then you would be able to see the new Playables section on the homepage of YouTube. Apart from these points, the company didn’t mention any other details such as what types of games will take place in this section.

“[September 5, 2023] Testing ‘Playables’ on YouTube: We’re starting to test a new experience on YouTube called ‘Playables’. If you’re part of this experiment, you’ll see a section on YouTube called ‘Playables’ that will appear alongside other content on the home feed”
