YouTube Music for iOS picks permanent mini player with new features

YouTube Music app is finally bringing a permanent mini player for iOS devices. On the flip side, the company is adding AirPlay capability to the application and has removed the ‘Next Song’ tab to implement swipe controls.

As of now, you will able to use AirPlay and Cast in the mini-player. Don’t worry as these new options will lead you to the same page that appears in the top-right corner of the screen. However, the company has made this section clean and imposed only two tabs – search and account avatar.

Meanwhile, the Play icon appears on the right side. But the two major changes in YouTube Music for iOS devices are – a permanent mini player and swipe controls. Yes, you can swipe right or left to switch between the next and previous songs.

It is worth mentioning that you cannot swipe down on the mini-player to clear the queue. Instead, you need to make your way to the overflow menu and tap the ‘Dismiss queue’ option. These changes are approaching both iPhone and iPad users with version 6.20.
