YouTube testing new ‘Timer’ tool to crack down on Ad blockers

Posted on

YouTube is trying out new ways that can maintain the efficiency of the video-streaming app among users. In the latest edition, the company is testing a useful ‘Timer’ tool on YouTube to crack down on ad blockers. Let’s get some more details on this matter.

According to a user on the Reddit platform, YouTube started showing a new Timer sign in the top-right corner in the Ad Blockers pop-up text. It possibly appears for 30-60 seconds on the header section. By that time, the screen reads an official message with three bullet points.

It further highlights the benefits of a Premium subscription and includes “Allow YouTube Ads” and “Try YouTube Premium”. This change is only appearing for general consumers who don’t own a paid account.

Not everyone is finding this timer in the application. Hence, it seems like Google is still testing this feature. Though you may receive this prompt in the coming days.
