YouTube never misses a chance to surprise its users with amazing tweaks and features. Although the current situation in the app has given a shock to some video watchers. According to the information, YouTube is not suggesting new videos if your watch history is disabled.
Recently, Google mentioned on a YouTube support page that it’s important turning on the watch history to receive recommended videos and other features on the home page. Explaining the reason, the page reads that this is because video suggestions are based on your watch history.
As of now, users will encounter a blank home page with just the search bar and the navigation menu. This change is for both mobile and web versions.
Why is @YouTube forcing me to turn on watch history?? Without watch history, the videos in home page are not visible. I don't like this update! #youtube pic.twitter.com/8efIDJiFGM

Here’s what the page reads:
“We are launching this new experience to make it more clear which YouTube features rely on watch history to provide video recommendations and make it more streamlined for those of you who prefer to search rather than browse recommendations.”
