YouTube is working on several new features that can enhance the app experience. In the latest development, the company is testing an interesting capability that will let users search songs by simply humming the tune on YouTube.
Earlier this week, the company announced a bunch of useful elements that will join the app experience in the coming days. One of them is to search for your favorite songs on the YouTube app by just humming the tune of it.
In terms of functioning, the feature identifies a track based on three or more seconds of the user humming the tune. Once recognized, the app pops up the content and other user-generated videos as well as Shorts.
It’s somewhat similar to what we have in Google Search since 2020. Google has further confirmed that the same technology is being used for YouTube. The only difference is that YouTube’s version is much faster. Currently, the feature is showing up for a limited number of users on Android devices.
