According to the requirements of the bill, the government-funded electric vehicle charging stations must use DC Fast Chargers chargers, at least 4 charging ports, which can charge 4 vehicles at the same time, and each charging port must reach or exceed 150kW. Also, charging stations cannot be used only by members.

In addition, the regulations require all parties to ensure that charging stations across the United States are connected and operated on the same software platform, and states must use federally funded charging ports for at least five years. To ensure that electric vehicle chargers work 97% of the time, a set of data standards must be developed so that third-party apps can provide real-time charging status information.
