Apple iOS 17 FaceTime reactions became embarrassing point for some users
Apple iOS 17 upgrade has incredible features and one of them is the FaceTime reactions. But in recent times, the newly added capability brought some users to an embarrassing point. Why so? Let’s jump into the details of this matter and find the reasons.
For your information, Apple iOS 17 and macOS 14 enable users to perform a variety of gestures such as thumbs up, thumbs down, or hearts with their hands to show 3D emojis on the screen during a video call. In addition, the list contains show balloons, confetti, and fireworks behind the user.
While all these gestures and actions sound quite fun, you can not use them every time or in every situation. Eventually, a user shared his experience with the Apple iOS 17 FaceTime reactions, and here is what he says:
“the funniest thing about Apple macOS features “video reactions” where if your camera sees you do a thumbs up or heart symbol with your hands, stuff happens behind you like fireworks in ANY video app you are using BY DEFAULT. A friend was in an online therapy session, describing his trauma so the therapist asked if he was alright and he did a thumbs up and then HUGE FIREWORKS BEHIND HIS HEAD.”
That’s a little weird but here is the solution. You can turn off these reactions. When on video call, simply navigate to the Control Center at the top right corner. Now tap on video effects and turn off the Reactions options.
