Apple iPhone 15 series is a newly launched product that is constantly emerging in the problems space. After the overheating incident, it seems like the ultimate smartphone lineup is facing a charging defect. Recently, some BMW users reported that powering up the Apple iPhone 15 with the vehicle’s wireless charging pad is quite risky as it breaks the NFC Pay chip. Besides, the phone enters a data recovery mode, flashing a white screen and making the NFC chip non-functional.
That’s not it. Users further receive a prompt reading ‘Could not set up Apple Pay – an error occurred while setting up Apple Pay’ in the Wallet app. Notably, this issue is appearing on the Pro models and there isn’t any permanent solution to it.
If you have a BMW and have purchased an iPhone 15, Do NOT put your phone on the cars surface charger. It will cause the digital card reader to fail and you will HAVE to get another phone because they don’t have capacity to fix it yet.
