Apple may have to pay $1.1 billion to VirnetX after failing patent infringement lawsuit

According to a recent report of Reuters, a federal judge has ordered in favor of Apple Inc.’s attempt to set aside or reduce a $ 2,502.8 million patent infringement judgment in favor of VernetX Holdings Corporation and awarded interest and royalties.

Tyler of Texas, in a judgment on Friday, U.S. District Judge Robert Schroeder rejected Apple’s request for a new trial and several other arguments.

The VernetX Award should not exceed $113.7 million and the U.S. VernetX’s claims to patent including trademark office judges are “unacceptable.”

In October, judges found that Apple had infringed on two VernetX patents related to secure networks called virtual private networks that could connect owners of different iPhones and iPods.
