The iPhone maker said that Apple‘s hardware engineering head Dan Riccio will step down to oversee the new project, giving some details about his latest role as a long-term executive.
Apple said in a statement that it would report to Ricio’s chief executive officer, Tim Cook. He will be replaced by company expert John Ternus on the executive team.
Riccio, who joined Apple two decades ago as product design vice president, was elected vice president of iPod hardware engineering in 2010 and leads the Mac, iPhone, iPod, and iPod engineering teams.

The company is moving forward with self-driving car technology, focusing on new projects with the goal of building a passenger vehicle that incorporates its own battery technology by 2024.
According to the previous report, the long-rumored Apple car may use the “C1” chip based on the A12 Bionic processor and has eyeballs. It also has tracking and other functions in-car AI functions.
There is still some debate over when Apple will launch, and the speculated launch date will vary from 2024 to 2027.
