Despite the reopening of many regions since COVID-19, the PC demand worldwide remains strong, in some cases at record levels in 2020. The biggest drivers in demand are customers, students, and corporate innovation.
According to a recently released report by the research firm IDC, there is a strong demand for new PCs to launch hybrid utility cases. In 2020, PC exports will increase by 12.9%, and the traditional PC market to grow by 18.2% with shipments reaching 357.4 million this year.
Looking forward to the 2020-2025 forecast period is stronger than historical standards with the annual growth rate (CAGR) is 2.5 percent. All of this is happening at a time when educational backlogs are on the rise and in many geographies the retail channel list is at an all-time low. PC exports will not be affected by 2021.

The supply concerns for the PC industry continue, especially in integrated circuits (ICs), but as the demand perspective continues to move upwards, the pressure is mounting on suppliers to increase capacity. If assuming there are no further supply disruptions, PC supply, and production capacity should be balanced by 2021.
