Indian antitrust regulators examine Google and Apple for unfair business practices

Posted on

Google and Apple are under the lens of the CCI (Competition Commission of India) for unfair business practices. The organization has initiated an investigation against these companies to explore how they are managing operations in the global market.

It’s not the first time when investigations like these came into the spotlight. Google encountered such penalties earlier as well when it had to change its operations in India due to antitrust regulations. In the current scenarios, Apple and Google are once again in the suspicious category for their unfair business practices.

Meanwhile, the CCI is investigating Apple for its app billing rules. This includes the 30% of App Store commission fee and the absence of third-party payment alternatives. These investigations follow allegations from multiple companies and industry bodies.
