According to new information, SaskTel has announced the launch of its Samsung-based 5G wireless network in downtown Saskatoon, the largest urban center in Saskatchewan. In addition, SaskTel is expanding its 5G network in Regina, making plans to cover the majority of the two cities by the end of 2022.

However, with Samsung’s full, end-to-end 5G solution, SaskTel’s 5G network is capable of delivering hyper-fast data speeds of up to 1.2 Gigabits (Gbps) per second, which allows customers to connect faster than the present.

Once fully operational, 5G networks will offer increased efficiency and ultra-low latency, driving new utility cases for next-generation innovations such as wireless technology and smart cities, immersive healthcare, agri-tech solutions and gaming.

The 5G technology offers a new level of performance and capability that enhances the user experience and lays the foundation for smart cities, next-generation virtual healthcare, immersive education, smart agricultural technology, and the next level of gaming.
