The Zen4 architecture based on 5nm and 4nm process technology will have three different microarchitectures: Zen4, Zen4 V-Cache, and Zen4c. AMD did not specify which microarchitecture will be used in consumer products.
AMD says Zen4 is expected to power the world’s first high-performance 5nm x86 CPU later this year. In the Cinebench test, compared with Zen3, Zen4 is expected to increase IPC by 8%-10%, performance per watt by more than 25%, and overall performance by 35%.
Furthermore, Zen5 will be based on 4nm and 3nm process nodes and also include three microarchitectures: Zen5, Zen5 V-Cache, and Zen5c.
