May 5th Reddit netizen Byotan recently posted that he found that some Android phones can be remotely photographed through the controller after connecting to the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controller.

According to the test, button A can be used to take pictures, and button X and button Y can be used to zoom in and out. Samsung and Motorola brand mobile phones can take pictures, but OnePlus phones cannot. Other brands have not been tested, and Samsung tablets can also be used.

If you add a single Joy-Con controller on your Android smartphone, you can use the “A” button to take pictures remotely on your smartphone, using Joy-Con on the right side of this demo. It may not be useful in everyday life, but since our smartphone cameras are replacing traditional cameras, Joy-Con is an easy option to activate the remote shutter if you mount your phone on a tripod.

Or take a break somewhere to get a family picture or take a scene without holding your smartphone. There are special products for this purpose, but Joy-Con is useful because any switch owner already has a hand.

The Joy-Con handle is paired with the mobile phone via Bluetooth, and the camera that comes with the system is required. Third-party camera software such as Google Camera cannot use the buttons.
