Apple released first public beta of iOS / iPadOS 16.2

After releasing the developer preview beta 1 on October 26, Apple today pushed the iOS / iPadOS 16.2 public beta 1 update to iPhone and iPad users, available on iPhone 8 and later models.

Apple debuted the new cross-platform Freeform app in iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2, designed to allow iPhone, iPad, and Mac users to work together in real time. Multiple people can work on the same Freeform document, and updates from all participants are synchronized in real-time.

The update also brings external monitor support for pre-stage scheduling multitasking, allowing up to 8 apps to be used simultaneously. External monitor support is available for M1 and M2 iPad models.

Apple iOS / iPadOS 16.2 Public BetaIn addition, a new home app architecture has appeared in iOS and iPadOS 16.2. To install the architecture update, users need a device running iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, or macOS Ventura 13.1, and HomePod 16.2 beta software.
