As you know, Apple ditched the idea of releasing a new large HomePod speaker, releasing a small HomePod mini instead. However, a conditional successor to the older model may still appear.
The source claims that Apple is working on something hybrid that will combine multiple devices at once. It will be a mixture of HomePod and Apple TV, additionally equipped with a screen and FaceTime camera.

That is, it will be a very versatile device: a smart speaker, a set-top box, and a device for video calls. Considering that no one will make a very small speaker with a tiny screen, the hybrid will obviously be quite large.
Of course, such a product should cost a lot, but it all depends on many factors. The project is currently at an early stage, so it won’t be out soon.
