TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) is one of the leading contract manufacturers that produce chipsets for mobile phones. The California tech firm, Apple is the largest customer of the Taiwan based company.
The company produces processors for all the Apple products including the Bionic chips for iPhones and the M1 CPUs for the new M1 Macs and many others. Recently, Apple has introduced the iPhone 12 models which are equipped with the latest 5nm process-based A14 Bionic chipset which is produced by the TSMC itself.
And now as per the latest report, it is predicted that the TSMC will account for 53 percent of the overall 5nm chips production for the Cupertino-based iPhone maker this year, says Counterpoint. While another chipmaker giant, Qualcomm will account for a 24 percent share of the 5nm based chips.

While for the 7nm chips, AMD will be the top customer with a 27 percent share, followed by NVIDIA that will get a 21 percent share of the total production. As for the 5nm based chips, previously it was also reported that Apple has booked the full capacity of the chipset with TSMC. It is worth noticing that one-fifth of the total revenue of TSMC comes from Apple.
