Apple has yet to begin testing the second prototype of its augmented reality glasses, according to a new report, which contradicts the expectations of its supply partners. Earlier it was reported that testing will begin in the first quarter of this year.
The company has been working on augmented reality glasses for a long time, similar to regular glasses, but with lenses with built-in displays that you can interact with using gestures. The current prototype is said to resemble high-end, thick-rimmed sunglasses that house the battery and chips.
According to DigiTimes, Apple was about to enter the second phase of eyewear development with a focus on improving device mass and battery life. At that time, it was assumed that Apple could begin mass production in the first quarter of 2022.

Initially, the supply chain assumed that Apple wearables could be launched into mass production in the first quarter of 2022. But since testing of the second prototype has not yet begun, the chances of mass production in the first quarter of 2022 are unlikely.
Bloomberg at the beginning of the year advised to wait for glasses no earlier than 2023, and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TFI Securities, known for his accurate predictions about Apple products, believes that they will appear next year.
