ASRock launched Thunderbolt 4 Dual Port Expansion Card

ASRock has unveiled an expansion card shown in the illustrations, which allows you to add two 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 ports to your system configuration.

In addition to the corresponding USB-C connectors, the mounting plate has two connectors for DisplayPort 1.4 pass-through, and a pair of cables are included for connecting video outputs to them.

Supports video pass-through up to 5K resolution at frame rates up to 60 Hz. The card is based on the Intel JHL8540 Maple Ridge controller and is equipped with a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface. The controller supports daisy-chaining of up to five compatible devices.

The source clarifies that the card works exclusively with ASRock motherboards based on Intel 500 series chipsets, which have a dedicated TBT_Header pin header.

In addition, the card requires a 9-pin USB 2.0 connector. The card is 8.4 cm long and 10.41 cm high and occupies one slot. The manufacturer does not name its price.
