DDR5 is on the way! RAM manufacturer have completed the testing phase

Posted on

Storage brand Jiahe Jinwei (Guangwei/Asgart) announced that the company’s first batch of DDR5 memory modules has been mass-produced at the Shenzhen Pingshan factory, and it is also the first company in China to mass-produce DDR5.

Jiahe Jinwei has grown into the top four memory module manufacturers in the world and is actively preparing for the upcoming DDR5 memory like many industry brands. At the end of Intel’s Alder Lake, 12-generation Core will be the first to support.

In December 2020, Jiahe Jinwei announced that it will take the lead in the overall layout of DDR5 memory module production. In February 2021, Asgart, a brand of Jiahe Jinwei, was the first to announce the first DDR5 memory module.

In March, Micron’s DDR5 DRAM memory pellets arrived at the Jiahe Jinwei factory in stock. Jiahe Jinwei’s first batch of DDR5 memory sticks uses Micron particles, frequency 4800MHz, voltage 1.1V, timing 40-40-40, capacity 16GB (single-sided) or 32GB (double-sided).

In the future, Jiahe Jinwei will continue to produce higher frequency, larger capacity DDR5 memory sticks. Compared with DDR4, DDR5 has lower power consumption, higher stability, and safety, and the upper limit of capacity and frequency will be increased several times.

JEDEC stipulates that the standard frequency range of DDR5 is 3200-4800MHz, but for memory module manufacturers, 4800MHz has become the starting standard, and it will generally rush to 8400MHz, and some manufacturers even propose to exceed 10GHz.
