Google is bringing useful capabilities for web publishers where they can control the AI training data on websites. As of now, the admins can pick if they want their sites to improve Bard and Vertex AI generative APIs or not.
According to the inputs, the US tech giant is now presenting the Google-Extended facility, which is part of robots.txt and mainly focuses on Bard and Vertex AI segments. It is further applied for future generations of models that power AI products.
Thus, Google-Extended helps web publishers control access to data on websites and lets them choose whether to help these AI models become more accurate as well as capable over time. In addition, the tech giant says:
“…we’re committed to engaging with the web and AI communities to explore additional machine-readable approaches to choice and control for web publishers. We look forward to sharing more soon.”
