Research results show that Qualcomm chips accounted for 28% in 2020, and it will increase to 31% in 2021. In addition, Huawei’s HiSilicon has a 10% market share in 2020, but by this year, HiSilicon’s chip market will account for less than 10%.
For 5G mobile phones, Counterpoint predicts that Apple, Qualcomm, and MediaTek will have very similar market shares, with Qualcomm accounting for the highest proportion, which will reach 30%.
Analysts pointed out that once Qualcomm’s foundry capacity increases, it will gain a leading market position in the second half of 2021. In the competition of 5G mobile phones, except for these three companies, the competitiveness of other manufacturers is very weak.
