The new server/workstation system is said to be up to 85% faster than DDR4 DRAM thanks to the features of DDR5 memory. Micron stated that the new DDR5 server memory mainly has the following advantages:
-
New architecture nearly doubles memory bandwidth for dramatic efficiency gains.
-
Increase JEDEC speed to 4800MT/s, 1.5 times faster than DDR4.
-
Modules up to 64GB are available to power memory-intensive workloads.
-
Optimize overall system operation with DDR5’s innovative architectural improvements and module power management capabilities.
