Breaking: There will be no Galaxy Note series this year says Samsung CEO

Posted on

The Galaxy Note lineup of Samsung is one of the premium and classic offerings from the South Korean tech giant that offers a bunch of high-end features along with its productive S-Pen. The latest Note series phone is the Galaxy Note 20 launched last year.

Samsung launches a new Note series phone every year but there were some questions regarding this year’s Note phone. As the Galaxy S21 Ultra has got the support for S-Pen and the upcoming Foldables are also said to come with this functionality, it is said that there might not be any Galaxy Note this year.

According to the latest news from South Korean media, the discontinuation of the Note lineup is now confirmed by the CEO Dong-jin Ko, the head of the information technology and mobile communications of Samsung. He said in the 52nd regular meeting of the shareholders that:

The S Pen was implemented on the’Galaxy S21 Ultra’. It is difficult to release the note series in the second half of the year as two can be a burden.”

This means that we will not see any Note series phone this year which is quite disappointing for the Note fans and it is also not actually understood why Samsung is not willing to launch this series. Also, it is not known if these devices will not be coming just this year or they are discontinued forever.

The poor sales might not be the reason for the discontinuation and we’ll be getting more points on this in the coming days. It remains to be seen what the Korean phone maker will offer with its foldable phones if there won’t be any Note device this year. Stay tuned…
