Circle to Search is a feature or we can say it’s an enhanced version of mobile web search that allows users to swiftly search for products or learn about a specific topic with a simple gesture. To be mentioned, this feature was initially launched with Galaxy S24 and then Google decided to bring it for Pixel 8 and 8 Pro models.
To be mentioned, Google announced the availability of the circle to search feature once Samsung released its latest and greatest flagship lineup- Galaxy S24. However, the firm further included the feature drop, and now after a few days of gap, the Circle to Search feature starts making its way to Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
It means users of Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro can now search for anything by just making a circle on it. Notably, if you have gesture navigation enabled, just long-press on the nav handle to invoke Circle to Search. Those who use a 3-button can do the same with the home button but will lose the ability to use Google Assistant.
Now, a blue or purple shimmer originates from the bottom of your screen, while a search bar with voice mic and Lens appears at the bottom. Flanking the “Google” logo at the top is an overflow menu (Search history, Delete last 15 minutes, and Send feedback), and a close button.
Other options include swiping back on the left/right edge of the screen (like any app) or swiping up on the nav handle. A nice thing about Circle to Search is how you’re brought back to what you were doing once done. Therefore, this feature is rolling out widely and will be available for eligible models shortly.
