Foldable phones from Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo could be launched this year
With the growing demands of foldable smartphones, several OEMs including the Chinese phone makers such as Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo are also planning their own phablets that will be launched later this year. The foldable smartphone from Xiaomi is already leaked previously.
The foldable is in demand as they provide a big screen along with a compact size. As per the latest news from the tipster DigitalChatStation, the three Chinese tech giants will be unveiling their foldable phones before the end of this year.
The foldable will equip a hinge mechanism for folding just like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold. A foldable prototype from Xiaomi has been surfaced running on the latest MIUI 12 with the same hinge design.

The information about the foldables from Vivo and Oppo is still unknown but we’ll definitely get something on these in the coming days. This year’s folding phones aren’t supposed to bring major design changes in the foldable market and will sport a similar hinge mechanism as the older one.
In addition, Samsung has also raised its flexible screen shipments, so we can expect a big wave of adoption of the display from several OEMs this year. Further, the Korean tech giant is also working on its own folding displays.
Although, the exact launch time of the foldable phones from the Chinese phone makers is still unknown. Also, it remains to be seen, what new features the new phablets will bring in order to compete with one another.
