Google patent suggests that Pixel 6 may come with an under-display camera

Posted on

According to a report from Patently Apple (via TechRadar), the design patent filed by Google suggests that future Pixel smartphones will be equipped with a front camera under the display.

Although the document does not explicitly mention the camera under the screen, the provided image (below) shows the full screen of the phone on the front of the screen. The under-screen camera is prone to light transmission problems, which may affect the image quality. Screen glare can be another issue.

It is worth mentioning that recent leak picture shows that Pixel smartphones do not have any cuts or notches.

What do we expect from Pixel 6? Given that Google will release its flagship phone in the second half of this year, it is too early to say anything about this.

In other words, we currently don’t know anything about Google’s next smartphone.
