Google Pixel 8 series appeared in several rumors these days and one of them was the ‘only eSIM’ implementation. However, the rumor has now come to an end. As per the latest revealings, the Google Pixel 8 series will bring the physical SIM card tray on board.
Earlier, we reported that Google is planning to drop the physical SIM card tray completely for the Pixel 8 series and depend on the eSIM technology, just like the Apple iPhone 14 models in the US. In addition, the tech giant started working on an easy eSIM transfer feature between Android devices.
However, it seems like the company has kept this plan on hold for some time due to a few drawbacks. For instance, local carriers still don’t offer eSIM support while traveling to a new country. Thus, the physical SIM card will remain on the left edge of the upcoming Pixel lineup.
