Huawei has recently filed a new patent for an advanced charging technology which was published on February 02, 2021, in China with publication number CN112310363A. The patent is related to a Silicon carbon composite material and its preparation method as well as a lithium-ion battery.
The patent document shows that the inclusion of the present invention provides a silicon-carbon composite material, including a core and a carbon layer coated on the surface of the core. Among them, the inner core includes a graphite skeleton, amorphous carbon-filled in the graphite skeleton structure, and silicon materials uniformly distributed in the amorphous carbon.
The silicon-carbon composite material only has a pore structure with a pore size less than or equal to 50 nm, and there is no pore size greater than 50nm pore structure. There are small internal pores available in the Silicon-carbon composite material that can effectively reduce the contact area between the silicon material and the electrolyte, reduce the occurrence of side reactions, and prolong the service life of the battery.

Simultaneously, the silicon material is uniformly dispersed around the graphite skeleton without agglomeration, so that the graphite skeleton can effectively relieve the volume expansion and contraction of the silicon material, and improve the structural stability and energy density of the composite material.
The inclusion of the present invention also provides a preparation method of the silicon-carbon composite material and a lithium-ion battery containing the silicon-carbon composite material. although nothing could be said if the company will use this technology in the upcoming smartphones or not.
