Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO launched a new iQOO 7 series in India today. Since its establishment, iQOO has always focused on its home country, China, where iQOO has launched a variety of smart phones with different prices.
However, the company’s global product portfolio contains only one device: iQOO 3, which was launched in India last year. Last year’s iQOO 3 was impressive, but it missed a good opportunity because it missed the goal of a higher refresh rate display and also used it as a gaming phone. With iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend, the company seems to be ready for this competition.
The iQOO 7 series consists of two mobile phones: iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend. The common features of these two phones include the overall design, display and main camera, but they are different in terms of chipset, battery and gaming features. For iQOO 7, Legend is the top flagship here. It was built in cooperation with BMW M Motorsports and has a three-color racing stripe on the back.

Both phones are equipped with a 6.62-inch AMOLED (Samsung E4) display on the front, with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 300Hz and a peak brightness of up to 1300nits. Under the hood, iQOO 7 Legend is powered by the top Snapdragon 888 chipset and is paired with up to 12GB of LDDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
On the other hand, iQOO 7 chose the Snapdragon 870 chip. iQOO said that they are using the new V6 UFS 3.1 flash memory chip, which can increase read and write speeds by up to 21% compared with last year’s chip. They also touted a feature called “extended RAM”, which can reallocate up to 3GB of flash memory to be used as RAM.
On the back, iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend have a triple camera array, including a 48MP Sony IMX598 main shooter with OIS and a 13MP wide-angle camera (which doubles as a macro lens). The third shooter of the standard iQOO 7 is a 2MP monochrome lens, while Legend got a 13MP telephoto lens with an equivalent focal length of 50mm.
iQOO 7 Legend is a game-focused device. Therefore, it has some proprietary game features and hardware, which are not available on the standard model.
First, you can get the Monster Touch function, which provides a virtual joystick on the screen and a control panel with pressure-sensitive digital buttons. iQOO claims that this setup will allow gamers to play games with two fingers and still be able to do what they can do with four fingers.
It is worth noting that last year’s iQOO 3 has two pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons, allowing users to play with four fingers. iQOO 7 Legend got rid of these physical buttons, but chose the controls on the screen. It is interesting whether this software solution will prove itself better than shoulder keys.
iQOO 7 Legend also has dual linear motors on the left and right sides of the phone to provide a more immersive experience in games and movies. In order to dissipate heat, iQOO 7 Legend uses a 4096mm vapor chamber liquid cooling system. At the same time, iQOO 7 uses a 6000mm graphite layer to fully cover the liquid cooling system.
The battery capacity of iQOO 7 Legend is 4,000mAh, while the battery capacity of standard iQOO 7 is 4,400mAh. Both phones support 66W FlashCharge technology.
