The Xiaomi Group announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that on May 25, 2021 at 4 pm Eastern time, the District Court of the District of Columbia issued a final judgment and lifted the US Department of Defense.

The company’s confirmation as a “Chinese military company” has officially lifted all restrictions on the purchase or holding of the company’s securities by American investors.

On the other hand, the founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi also announced this news via social media and said, “We won.” Currently, the topic “Xiaomi was removed from US ban list” ranks second among popular searches on Weibo, leading to heated discussion among online users.

On January 14, the US government included nine Chinese companies, including Xiaomi, on the so-called “Chinese military-related” blacklist to prevent American investors from investing in these companies.

On January 29, US Eastern Time, Xiaomi Group sued the US Department of Defense and the US Treasury in the District Court of the District of Columbia.
