Key Points

  • Samsung is rumored to ditch the Exynos processor for the next S flagships.
  • Galaxy S25 series to boast Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chips in all regions.
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup will be unveiled at the start of 2025.

Samsung Galaxy S25 series is set to make a significant shift by exclusively incorporating Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. This marks a notable departure from Galaxy S24 models that utilized Samsung’s in-house Exynos processors.

As per the information of @mingchikuo, Qualcomm is poised to become the exclusive SoC supplier for the Galaxy S25 series. This change results from Samsung’s Exynos 2500 potential shipping delays due to lower-than-expected yields on the 3nm process.

For a recall, the newly launched Galaxy S24 Ultra powers Snapdragon chips exclusively. While, Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ boast Exynos in some markets, and Snapdragon in others. However, this could change next year.

It means the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra could completely power the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chips. The Snapdragon SoC is renowned for its advanced technology, offering enhanced performance, improved efficiency, and advanced features.

By opting for this chipset, the Korean tech giant aims to deliver a superior user experience with faster processing speeds, smoother multitasking capabilities, and optimized power consumption.

The report further suggests that, Qualcomm planning to implement a 25-30% price increase on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. This move is expected to benefit the company significantly through the surge in S25 orders.

Furthermore, TSMC also stands as the exclusive supplier of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 utilizing the N3E process. Hence, the maker is also expected to gain substantial benefits from the uptick in Qualcomm’s order volume.
