On March 11, 2021, Oppo officially launched the most awaited flagship smartphone series Oppo Find X3 which includes Find X3 Pro, Find X3 Neo, and X3 Lite. The phones come with a 6.7-inch 10-bit curved display, 4500mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC charge, quad-camera setup, 5G connectivity, and more.

According to the latest report, Samsung Display recently announced that it has been supplying OLED panels with adaptive refresh rates to Chinese companies, including Oppo and OnePlus. Both companies have implemented these OLEDs in their premium smartphones to use high refresh functionality with low refresh power consumption.

In addition, the 6.7-inch display that is supplied to Oppo is used in its Find X3 smartphone while OnePlus used this panel in its upcoming OnePlus 9Pro.  Additionally, this new panel is said to use 46% less power compared to the previous generation panel.

Oliver Zhang, Product Manager of OnePlus, said, “OnePlus is expected to provide consumers with a more rational and advanced experience through Samsung Display’s innovative low-power OLED technology.”

However, Samsung claims that this display technology uses a custom update rate and can be adjusted automatically according to usage. For example, 120Hz is used for mobile games that require fast and smooth gameplay, while 60Hz for movies, 30Hz for emails, and 10Hz for static photos.
